Choose Newcastle

Newcastle Elementary School District opened in 1865 to 1st-8th grade students. Although the building location has moved three times and enrollment has grown, Newcastle Elementary/Charter School is still a small and close-knit community school.  We now serve transitional kindergarten through eighth grade to both district and charter students on the same campus and in the same classes.

Newcastle Elementary/Charter School has 19 regular education classrooms, one resource room, one Spanish and one music room. We offer P.E., Music, Library, Technology, and Foreign Language to all students weekly.  Our students are 1:1 with Chromebooks in grades 3-8 and we have technology offerings in grades TK-2.

Newcastle offers after school enrichment classes throughout the year such as STEM, Odyssey of the Mind, RockStar, Band, Orchestra, Homework Lab, Journalism, Virtual Art Class, Virtual Outdoor skills and online Chess Club.  Additionally, Newcastle participates in the Loomis Basin Athletic League which offers track, cross country, basketball and volleyball for both boys and girls.
You will find that our facilities are one of a kind.  We are located in the foothills of the Sierra’s with spectacular views.  Our campus sits on approximately 40 acres with green space, nature trail, duck pond, 5 different playgrounds, and a soccer field with a track.  In 2019 we completed an extensive modernization project creating state-of-the-art learning environments.  We offer flexible seating, solar tube lighting, solar-powered facilities, and cutting edge technology for our classrooms.

Our school is a special community.  We are learners, families, educators, and proud Newcastle Knights.  The best way to get to know our school is to stop by for a visit.  Please inquire with our office about offerings for a tour or orientation.  Our office can be contacted at 916-663-3307.
