My name is Jennifer Muller and I am the school nurse for Newcastle Elementary School District. I was born in the Bay Area and was raised in both Southern and Northern California. I knew from the time I was little that I wanted to be a nurse. I started at Yuba Community College while I was still in high school and was able to graduate early with my Associates in Science. I transferred to Chico State University's Bachelor of Nursing program and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. I was hired as a brand new RN at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Emergency Department. I loved working in the emergency setting and soon became a board-certified Emergency Nurse and Trauma Nurse certified. I also worked part-time in the county jail and at Sutter Roseville Trauma Center.
I love being the school nurse and I feel so fortunate to have the best coworkers and to serve such wonderful students! I am also a parent in this district (my 3 kids attend Harvest Ridge Placer Academy) and I feel a strong connection to our school community. I recently started Graduate School at Sacramento State and will receive my Masters in Nursing in 2018. In my free time, I love visiting parks and museums with my kids, going on a date with my husband, reading historical fiction novels by the pool, watching the San Francisco Giants play baseball, and enjoying a good Netflix marathon.
